Our Company profile:

1965
Mr Patrick Leonard began his apprenticeship with "Scalemakers of Ireland" and worked
there until it closed in 1978.

1978
Mr Leonard then set up "Patrick Leonard Services" This business was set up to service the 
mechanical weighing scales sold by "Scalemakers of Ireland" all over Ireland.

1983
He was the 4th business to import weighing scales into Ireland for re-sale. This brand was called 
"ISHIDA" and they were made in Japan. He was the 1st business that sold weighing scales to
"Trade Customers" therefore becoming the 1st wholesaler of weighing equipment in Ireland.

1984
Mr Leonard changed the name of the business to Weighing Machine Services. This was
because by this time he had started to sell & repair electronic weighing equipment.

1985 
He imported his 2nd brand of scales called Tanita, which is also made in Japan. 

1987
He Imported his 3rd brand of scales called Jadever, which is made in Taiwan.

1990 
Due to the substantial increase in business Mr. Leonard changed this business from
a sole trader to a Limited company. He is now known as Weighing Machine Services Ltd.
We began importing a range of slicers from Noaw, which is made in Italy.

1993
We Imported our 4th range of scales from Dibal, which are made in Spain.  

1996
We were one of the first scale companies to succussfully obtained ISO-9000
in the Weighing Sector.

1997
We imported our first labelling scales from Dibal.

1999
We imported our 2nd range of slicing equipment from Duegi, which is also made in Italy.

2000
Successfully passed into the 21st century without any problems with our time/data chips
in our range of scales.

2003
Installed our first multi-shop software programme called Dibal RMS to link all shops back
to one computer for programming, stock reports and sales figures.

2005
Opened our on-line store. 

2009
We sold our first PC based touch screen POS weighing system.
